2018 has been a pivotal year for Waypoint Partners.

Growth isn’t just reserved for our clients, it’s built into our DNA. For the Waypoint Partners team, 2018 has been a year of consistent growth.

During the year we have appointed 4 new Partners, each adding specialist skills and experience in their respective sectors. With a total of 7 partners bolstering a 16-strong team, we continue to build a robust and talented offering.

Geographical expansion has been a key part of our growth trajectory; we now have offices in New York, London and Edinburgh, further extending our global reach across EMEA and Asia.

Enhanced global service offering

We were pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Gripton. Phil has joined as Partner to service clients in Scotland and the North of England and use his 26 years’ experience help clients overcome their difficult challenges to make their businesses more successful.

Waypoint Stateside

Another exciting development is the appointment of Brett Davis, our New York-based Managing Partner, who takes the helm leading our US expansion. With experience as an entrepreneur, investor and operational leader, Brett is perfectly positioned to head up our continued expansion into America.

M&A success stories

The M&A landscape in 2018 has highlighted an emerging breed of agency leaders who are looking for an alternative to the traditional exit story of selling their independent agency to the usual suspects.

Agency owners don’t just want a buyer. They want the right buyer, with a strong cultural fit. With vision, values and behaviours all lining up, as well as strategic alignment.

We’ve experienced this first hand with our own clients Click Consult and Draw, who both effected successful sales this year under Waypoint’s Corporate Finance services.

But it’s not just about the final exit; we are also committed to working with our clients long-term to add value to their business.

A packed events calendar

This year we’ve been taking our seminars and round-tables on the road with the #WaypointThinks series.

Our Driving Profitability roadshow has run successful events in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh. We’re taking it to more cities next year, so be sure to keep in touch to find out about events near you.

The Waypoint ‘Fundraising for Growth‘ event in collaboration with Carlyle Associates bought together a panel of experts specialising in different areas of fundraising, from government funding to venture capital for high growth scale-ups through to private equity funding.

In 2018 our ‘Raising Your First Million‘ event was as popular as ever with business owners and entrepreneurs (check out the video here), as was our exclusive Round Table Dinner, focussing on ‘The Art of New Business.’

For those looking to scale their agency, Agency Hackers events help agency owners equip themselves with the tools and skills needed to be successful in a competitive landscape. We were delighted to have sponsored this event for the third time, this year focussing on growing an agency through investment.
