As Partner, Julianna will lead strategic engagements with companies across the creative, marketing communications and related technology space with a focus on driving growth and value creation. Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Waypoint Partners which opened its offices in New York last October, and reunites her with U.S. Managing Partner Brett Davis who she worked with previously at Edelman.
Julianna joins Waypoint Partners after having held various executive leadership roles at Edelman, the world’s largest communications marketing firm. Most recently she served as the U.S. Chief Operating Officer where she was responsible for driving growth and value for the firm’s largest region representing over sixty percent of the company’s global revenue. In this role, Julianna led all day-to-day operations including client strategy and expansion, business development & marketing, strategic planning and innovation. She also oversaw human resources for the U.S. business which included talent management, diversity & inclusion and learning & development.
Prior to her role as U.S. COO, Julianna led Edelman’s Global Client Management group where she enabled the strategic growth and market expansion of the firm’s largest clients representing 30 percent of global revenue. She has advised clients and teams across a variety of areas including corporate brand and reputation, business transformation, operational effectiveness and integration, and organizational design.
A 20+ year agency veteran, Julianna’s background includes a unique blend of communications and marketing, business operations and strategic growth and expansion working with a variety of brands and industries. In addition to her agency leadership roles, Julianna has managed several complex change management programs with a focus on helping companies build capacity, capabilities and a culture of innovation for sustained competitive advantage.
Commenting on her new appointment, Julianna said:
“I am thrilled to be joining Waypoint Partners and to partner with companies on how best to grow and optimize their business in this dynamic environment. There is tremendous disruption taking place across the creative, marketing and digital space creating new types of challenges and opportunities across the ecosystem. Smaller firms are focused on how to scale quickly to take advantage of the market opportunities including where they invest and how they go to market. Midsize firms are focused on how they can expand into new markets and client sets, requiring different types of structures and repeatable processes. And the larger, more traditional firms are examining how they can continually innovate and integrate new specialties into the business without losing agility or speed to market.”
“Regardless of size or scale, the challenge all firms face is finding new paths to growth while offering increased value to clients and efficient ways of working. They must continually evaluate what is core to their business, new models and networks they need, and whether they ‘build’ or ‘buy’ innovative talent and technologies that their clients want and expect.”
Brett Davis, Managing Partner U.S at Waypoint Partners said:
“Julianna combines an unparalleled expertise in the creative and marketing communications sector with deep understanding of client’s business challenges and what impacts and ignites their growth. Her leadership experience and ability to work across companies ranging from start-ups to established agency networks will be invaluable in helping navigate a rapidly changing landscape. It’s great to be working with Julianna again.”
